Tidbits of Truth

"Activating The Power Of The Word"

If there is one priority that Scripture directs all Believers’ attention to, it is the emphasis for each of us to use God’s Word in such a way that we might positively influence our world ‘For Him’. I also believe that Scripture reveals a 3-pronged approach for our success in this matter. First of all, we are to: ‘Be like the Bereans.’ Speaking of the Bereans, Luke informs us (Acts 17:11): “These [the Bereans] were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they ‘Received the Word with all Readiness of Mind’ yet [they] searched the Scriptures daily, to prove whether those things were so.” ***The Bereans were unique in that they ‘Willingly Chose’ to be ‘Diligent Students of God’s Word.’ Secondly, God’s Word also instructs us to: ‘Be as the Sons of Issachar.’ I Chronicles 12:32 enlightens us concerning these men in this way: “And of the Sons of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do;” When it came to the Sons of Issachar, they were men who, after their diligent study of the Word, they then sought ‘Spiritual Insight from God’ in order that they might be able to ‘Connect God’s Word to the Current Events presently unfolding around them.’ Finally, God also desires for each of us to be ‘Battle Ready Soldiers of the Cross.’ It’s not enough to merely know the Word; or even to know the Word (up to and including) and how to connect ‘That Word’ to the present World Events unfolding all about us. God desires ‘More’ from us, than even that. For (most importantly) God needs us to be able to: ‘Put His Words Into Practice’ (as mentioned in James 1:22): “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Yes, the Great Commission of ‘Win the Lost at Any Cost’ is still the same: ‘Win the Lost At Any Cost!’ But God has also called us to ‘Do’ and to ‘Be’ so much more. We are ‘ALL’ also called to be ‘Salt’ (To retard the rot and decay of sin that goes on all about us); and to be ‘Light’ (That the Lord might use ‘US’ to drive back the very Forces of Darkness that seek to engulf our world). Dear God, please give us ‘Knowledge and Understanding of Your Written Word’; …And then God, please help each of us to put ‘That Word’ into practice in every facet of lives, and to do so on a daily basis!***
